Why do you want this character?: I've always been enamored with Shining Armor for many reasons. For one, he is the closest thing we see in canon to a supreme military leader of Equestria. This is intriguing to me. For another thing, they could very easily have just phoned in his character; he was a relation to Twilight Sparkle we heard nothing about until the season 2 finale. However, they elaborated on his backstory, and his personality from what we've seen so far is the ideal combination between a stern sense of command and a warm, loving demeanor. I'm drawn to this sort of character.

How often are you online?: Nearly every day, barring extenuating circumstances.

Personality: Shining Armor is possessed of a commanding presence as befits one of his station, and has all the things a good commander needs: perseverance, strength of will, and when necessary, a single-minded focus on his duty. However, he is also a loving husband and brother, and is very protective of his kingdom and its inhabitants, in addition to being exceedingly loyal to its rulers. The fact he was deceived once by one pretending to be the love of his life on the eve of his wedding is something he won't soon forget, but he refuses to let this fact breed hatred in his heart, choosing instead to focus on doing what he can for Equestria and his loved ones.

Sample Post: Shining Armor stood upon the balcony that overlooked the Crystal Empire, his sharp gaze taking in the goings on below. Nothing out of the ordinary seemed to be happening there, but one could never be too careful. He walked back into the castle, greeting his beloved wife with a smile and an affectionate nuzzle before heading deeper into the palace, greeting each of his posted guards with a nod of approval, which was acknowledged by a salute from his . All was well...but one moment's lack of vigilance could easily allow it to be so no longer. After making the rounds and assuring that all was indeed well in and around the palace, he went back to rejoin Cadance in their suite, rubbing his horn against hers lightly in affectionate greeting.
